FAN Championship

What a great end to our first full season of High School Fishing!! We ended up with SIX anglers who qualified for the FAN Championship on Lake Waco, April 14th.

The teams who qualified were Jason Phillips/Mitch Staskavage, Blake Martinez/Dylan Sanchez and Dayton Walters/Grady Walters.

To say that the weather conditions were not ideal would be an understatement. Our anglers battled crazy high winds all day long but kept their spirits high. The team of Phillips/Staskavage took 9th place with a 6.40 bag. Martinez/Sanchez placed 19th with 3.39 lbs and Walters/Walters caught a respectable number of bass but none were keepers. We also had the pleasure of hearing Alton Jones speak at the event. It was an all-around amazing experience!

A HUGE congratulations to Jason Phillips and Mitch Staskavage for also qualifying for the SAF 2018 High School Fishing National Championship on Lake Pickwick! That is a fantastic accomplishment and the entire club is so proud of y'all for representing us!
